What is Floorball

Floorball is a fast-paced and exciting sport that is blend of ice hockey and field hockey. The game is played indoors on a flat surface, typically a gymnasium or a sports hall, and involves two teams of six players each, including a goalkeeper. Each team has substitutions with a maximum of 20 players in a team.

RULES OF FLOORBALL

A standard game consists of three periods of 20 minutes each, with a 5-minute break between each period.
The game starts with a faceoff in the centre of the court. The ball is placed between two opposing players, and they have to try to gain possession of the ball.
Playing the Game: Players can move the ball around the court using their sticks, they can use their feet to control the ball. The player can also use their chest to control balls in the air but cannot use arms or hand and the stick must remain below the waist at all time.
A goal is scored when the ball crosses the goal line and into the goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game is declared the winner. A goal can be scored from anywhere on the field besides the goalie square.
Players are not allowed to use their sticks to hit or trip an opponent or to obstruct them in any way. Other fouls include high sticking, slashing, pushing in the back and holding. Players who commit fouls may be given a penalty, which involves sitting out for a set amount of time.
Goal keepers are required to wear padded kit and a helmet. Players under the age of 18 must wear eye protection at all times. Sticks are typically made of lightweight, carbon fiber or composite materials.

These are the basic rules of Floorball, but there may be additional rules and regulations depending on the league or tournament. Most leagues follow the International Floorball Federation Rules. If playing in Western Australia you can download the FWA summer league rules here
